The S3 Lite is a 21 mm tubular at under 200 g in 26 inches and under 215 g in 28 inches, for smooth surfaces and high pressures. SPC Silica compound, 120/240 TPI casing, guaranteed maximum weight. It equips racing-wheelchair rear wheels as well as track and road bikes.

Standard puncture protectionAn extra layer of rubberised casing under the tread: a barrier sufficient against most punctures, without hurting efficiency.
SPC Silica compoundTufo's reference road compound: 66 Shore A, a blend of natural and synthetic rubbers loaded with activated silica, for wet grip and low rolling resistance.
Rubber puncture stripA layer of rubber laid under the tread: whatever passes through the rubber stops there before reaching the casing. It adds to the model's puncture barrier, it does not replace it. Tufo calls it the “protective rubber ply”.

What it does
The S3 Lite is a narrow, light tubular for smooth surfaces: under 200 g in 26 inches, under 215 g in 28 inches, 21 mm section. It equips racing-wheelchair rear wheels as well as track and road bikes, and is popular in triathlon.
Why narrow
On smooth tarmac at high pressure, a narrow section reduces contact area and deformation: that is where rolling resistance is lowest and aerodynamic drag smallest. The sums stop working as soon as the road deteriorates.

120/240 TPI casing, SPC Silica compound, rubber puncture strip, guaranteed maximum weight, pressure from 8 to 15 bar. In 26 and 28 inches.
