What it does
The Elite Hi-Composite Carbon keeps the tread that made the model a success and changes everything underneath. It is a 28 mm tubular designed for racing on worn roads and the classics: where a narrow, hard tubular loses time bouncing from one flaw to the next.
The casing
It goes from 120/240 to 210/375 TPI. The tubular becomes much more supple: it absorbs instead of bouncing, which means both comfort and speed retained on a poor surface. That is the principle of the whole Elite series.
The compounds and the protection
A softer Low Modulus compound that follows the roughness of the road; a Grip Silica tread for wet grip; a Vectran barrier under the tread. 280 g in 28 mm, 4.5 to 8 bar.
