What it does
The Elite Jet is the time-trial tubular: under 160 g in 20 mm, inflatable up to 15 bar. It is made for smooth surfaces and short efforts where every watt of rolling resistance is paid for on the clock.
Why so narrow, so hard
On a perfectly smooth surface, a narrow section at very high pressure remains the fastest solution: the contact patch shrinks, and so does the deformation. The calculation reverses as soon as the road deteriorates — which is why the Elite Jet is a tubular for the occasion, to be fitted on race day and removed afterwards.
What it keeps
A Vectran barrier despite the weight, an SPC Silica compound, a rubber puncture-protection strip and a guaranteed maximum weight — the figure on the label is a ceiling. Black or red/black.
