The Tufo technology in this model

Vectran barrier
The toughest material in the Tufo catalogue: a Vectran ply, a liquid-crystal polymer five times stronger than steel at equal section, against punctures, cuts and blowouts.
Grip Silica compound
Tread compound with nanostructured silica, tuned for each discipline. Its strength is grip, especially in the rain.
Liquid Rubber casing
Casing compound of liquid rubber and nanostructured silica, with low hysteresis: it is what gives the top-end models their efficiency.
Rubber puncture strip
A layer of rubber laid under the tread: whatever passes through the rubber stops there before reaching the casing. It adds to the model's puncture barrier, it does not replace it. Tufo calls it the “protective rubber ply”.

Endurance 7 TR, in a few words

What it does

The Endurance 7 TR is made to ride far, for a long time, and on roads you did not choose. Touring, brevets, six-hour rides, worn country roads: it is the tyre for kilometres, not for time trials.

The low-pressure casing

Its 315/270 TPI casing is designed the opposite way round to the usual habit — denser under the tread than in the sidewalls — to stay stable at the low pressures that 28 and 32 mm sections allow. A badly designed wide tyre wobbles when you stand on the pedals; this one keeps its footing. The compound combines nano-silica and carbon black: it holds in the rain and wears slowly.

The protection

Vectran barrier and a rubber puncture-protection strip under the tread, Liquid Rubber impregnation of the casing. Compatible with hookless rims. In 28 and 32 mm.
