Primus SG, in a few words

What it does

The Primus 33 SG covers all cyclo-cross conditions except deep mud: grass, damp soil, sand, dry packed ground, gravel. It is the tubular for the majority of races, where the terrain is rarely extreme from start to finish.

The tread

A self-cleaning centre strip, whose pattern throws off soil with every wheel revolution, and pronounced outer knobs that give great stability in hard corners. It is a faster-rolling pattern than the Cubus, less committed in the greasy stuff.

The two casings

Standard 60/90 TPI (400 g, up to 4.5 bar) for training and durability, or Flexus 210/315 TPI (350 g, up to 3 bar) for racing: more supple, lighter, it allows the low pressures at which cyclo-cross is won. Soft, high-absorption compound in both cases.
