The Tufo technology in this model

Standard puncture protection
An extra layer of rubberised casing under the tread: a barrier sufficient against most punctures, without hurting efficiency.
Grip Silica compound
Tread compound with nanostructured silica, tuned for each discipline. Its strength is grip, especially in the rain.
Airtight TR compound
Inner compound of nano-blocks, built into the casing, which holds air without a tube. It is what makes a tyre “tubeless ready”.
Nylon-reinforced sidewalls
A nylon ply on the sidewalls of gravel and XC tyres: protection against cuts and stability at low pressure.

What it does

The XC13 TR SG is the fastest of the four XC tyres. Dry trails, packed tracks, road links: it is the tyre for non-technical courses where you want to move, and an excellent choice for the rear wheel of a marathon bike.

The tread and compounds

Low, closely spaced knobs, almost a continuous strip in the centre. Tufo applies the know-how of its gravel and road tubeless compounds here — the brand makes all three families, and the XC13 benefits the most: its grip on hard surfaces is closer to that of a gravel tyre than an MTB tyre.

The construction

210/375 TPI casing, reinforced sidewalls, standard puncture protection. Tubeless ready, aramid beads, compatible with hookless rims. 29 × 2.35.
